Yep, it's the big day for Jim- crossing into a new decade.  We've got a pound cake in the oven, presents hiding somewhere in the house, and many dark, sinister congratulations on the way I'm sure.  Jim seems to be doing good so far.  He and Susanna are watching "Hogan's Heroes" on our bed.  (That and watching "Hong Kong Phooey" are a new daddy-daughter tradition in our house.)

So let's ponder what was going on in the year of my husband's birth...

...Man had not yet landed on the moon.

...My parent's weren't married yet (they hadn't even met).

...The Green Bay Packers won the 2nd Super Bowl.

...The Vietnam War is headline news, and Nixon was elected the next President.

...One Life to Life premiers on ABC.

...Jackie Kennedy becomes Mrs. Onassis.

...Yale University lets women in.

...Actors Jim Caviezel (Jesus, in the Passion) and Hugh Jackman are born, Caviezel actually on this day.

...TIME magazine called 1968 "The Year That Changed the World" and "The Year That Shaped a Generation".

Well, even though I wasn't even a gleam in my father's eye at this point in time (a fact I probably rub in too often), 1968 did turn out to be a year that changed my world and a year that is shaping our own little generation of Campbell's.  Ann Marie, Susanna, and I are incredibly glad that a teenage girl in Florida decided to give life to her baby that year and allow him to be given to a family that would raise and nurture him to be a man of God that is passionate, creative, and loyal.

We love you, Jim!  Happy Birthday!
